Other Projects
Check out few of my early projects and experience concepts.
Musical Chairs
The music stops and so does your heart!
If you could add anything to the game of musical chairs what would it be? If you said exotic locations and rocket launchers you are correct! This UDK project can best be described as Musical Chairs meets Deathmatch. Except if you miss your “Chair” then you aren’t just out, you suffer a death from the environment itself and suffer a point deduction!
What I did
Concept level is finished! I’m calling it “Sacrifice” for now. Finished level construction and gameplay scripting.
What I'm doing now
I'm currently preparing for a big playtest with some of my fellow students at the Entertainment Technology Center. I'll be exporting an installer that I will also post on this website when finished.
What comes next!
The next big milestone is configuring the AI to react properly to the chairs mechanic! Then release and feedback gathering!
Alternate
Tilt to move, tap to swap colors!
Alternate was our create-a-game-in-a-month exercise after Eduardo. I was a designer on this project. We wanted to make a score based game that had long lasting appeal. A game you could play for 2 minutes while waiting for a bus or play for an hour while you wait in line for a concert. A simple, engaging portable game that fits anywhere in your lifestyle. Did I mention it’s addictive? You can buy it on the iPhone App store for 99 cents here:
Bloboo
An interactive experience for a 'Naive Guest'.
Bloboo is a world that was created for the "Naive Guest" round of Building Virtual Worlds. The requirement for this round was to design and build a virtual world that emphasized freedom for a person who has never seen your world before (and possibly hasn't even played a video game before) all in two weeks. Upon presentation day a naive guest will play the game in front of an audience. This video is that presentation for our team. I was a game designer, producer, and modeler/animator on this project. The game is highly interactive and allows the guest to use a variety of props to play at their own pace. It was developed on the Playmotion platform using Panda3D.
Flightless
An interactive VR performance piece.
Flightless was designed for the "Help a character overcome his/her fear" round of Building Virtual Worlds. It was designed as a digital performance piece where the actor helps Pico the Penguin overcome his fear of skydiving. I was a designer and modeler/animator on this project. It was exceptionally ambitious due to the amount of animation needed to convey Pico's tumultuous penguin emotions. It was developed on the Head Mounted Display/Motion Sensor platform using Panda3D.
Semnat Studios HD Console Concept
A pre-visualization.
This is one of our pre-visualization videos for Semnat Studio's HD console game project. Unfortunately we ceased its development in November of 2009. I was working on preliminary level design, character animation and animatic construction before the project was set aside. Damn shame. I'll see if I can get a more fleshed out version of what the project was to be up here soon.
